OneThe whosoever
God "is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." That sentence has no income bracket and no exception for the famous or the complicated. Paul told the church to pray "for kings, and for all that are in authority," including rulers who were hostile to the faith.
Elon has called himself a "cultural Christian" and has spoken warmly of Christian values. We're grateful for that. But admiring the teachings of Jesus and trusting Jesus are not the same thing. We want the second for him.
TwoThe camel and the needle
Jesus said, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." His disciples were stunned. If the rich can't be saved, who can?
"With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."Matthew 19:26
The wealthiest person alive is, by Jesus' own words, one of the hardest people on earth to reach. If Elon comes to faith, the whole world will see what money can't do and what God always can.
ThreeA man who doesn't flinch
Some people come to faith quietly. Others come like Saul of Tarsus: all their intensity and brilliance turned around in a single afternoon. Saul went from hunting the church to planting it across the Roman Empire.
Whatever else you think of Elon, he doesn't care what people think of him. He says what he believes and builds what others call impossible. Imagine that temperament captured by the love of Christ, standing in front of hundreds of millions of people and saying, "Jesus is Lord."
FourThe finish line
Jesus gave his followers one assignment: make disciples of all nations. He also told them how the story ends:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."Matthew 24:14
Thousands of people groups still have no church among them. Many have no Bible in their language. Much of what remains is a problem of reach: translation, travel, and connection. Those are the problems Elon has spent his life on. Peter wrote that believers can be "hasting unto the coming of the day of God." Finishing the Great Commission is how we hasten it.
FiveRockets in the new creation
The Bible doesn't end with souls floating on clouds. It ends with "a new heaven and a new earth," a renewed creation that God's people will live in, explore, and care for forever. Jesus spoke of faithful servants given authority over cities. Eternity isn't idle.
We say it with a smile, and we mean it: a man who spent this life learning how to reach other worlds may spend the next one doing it for the glory of the One who made them.
SixWhy prayer
No one is argued into the kingdom. Jesus said, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him." So we won't tag him, lobby him, or pressure him. We'll pray, one minute at a time, until he says yes.
